Match report   Time to concentrate on the league then!

A disappointing result from a trip to the east end of Hull for the first team after dominating large parts of a game that could so easily have had a different ending.

With Sam Harro on the bench the management once again turned to Dave Warner to lead the attack and use his pace to test the Hedon defence, which he did tirelessly all game.

An even start to the game soon passed as 'Ford began to dominate, forcing a series of corners but it wasnt till after the half hour mark that FFC took the lead. An inswinging corner from the left was palmed away by the Hedon keeper but only as far as Dave Warner on the edge of the box to coolly lift the ball back over the keeper for a deserved 1-0 lead. But just when we were thinking we could push on for a second Hedon got back into the game with a superb strike from the right hand side. 1-1 HT.

As the second half progressed 'Ford largely dominated but had to be wary of a Hedon side who tried to break when they could. A couple of efforts from 'Ford kept the pressure on Hedon before disaster struck to give Hedon an unexpected 2-1 lead. 'Ford's keeper, whose wind-assisted kicks had troubled the Hedon defence all the second half, failed to gather a rolling ball and turned to watch the ball cross the goal line.

More pressure from 'Ford with the introduction of Sam H and Nick Turnbull led to more corners and Dave Warner hitting a post but the leveller just wouldnt come.

So a delighted Hedon side go through to the next round of the cup and there's probably no one more surprised than them.

Special mentions this week for Dan Winter who travelled but didnt get on, having been saved for the extra time which didnt come, and whose dad brought the petrol to save the No3 Assistant's blushes after running out of petrol at Crockey Hill.

No.2 Assistant Denster and his tac tic board were sorely missed today, having been dispatched South on a scouting mission in the search to find goal scorer cover for Sam.
