| Match report | Fulford Under 15s have put their recent Cup disappointments behind them and started the festive season early with a thumping 8-1 win against North Duffield. Despite a bitingly cold chill, the boys warmed up quickly and were 3-0 up almost before Mr Gabbiadini had reached his dugout. Joe T's return to the midfield provided additional creativity which, together with Bedo's terrier-like bite and stamina, provided the foundation for Josh M and Alex who were at their most ruthless in front of goal. With the game effectively sewn up within 25 minutes, Fulford starting stroking the ball around and played some of their most stylist football of the season. Scully, captaining the team, led the defence well and, together with Will P, Gianni and Liam, didn't put a foot wrong. With a 6-0 lead at the break, Ricardo showed his years of experience in using the opportunity to experiment with systems and positions. Although the goals slowed the football remained compelling with Mickey P, Josh F, Carl and Gianni dominating the flanks and delivering some threatening crosses. Although only 2 more goals were added, courtesy of Tom R and Ben, there were chances galore and Fulford could easily have hit double figures. To be fair North Duffield never gave up and got a deserved consolation goal albeit as the result of a cruel bobble when Will P was clearing the ball. Despite the absence of a clean sheet, the boys will go forward into the busy Christmas period with renewed confidence. |
