| Match report | Second match – Lorenzo joined the team to make seven for the Vikings. Sam P was in goal for the 1st half. Dillon played up front with Max. Sam O and Lorenzo in midfield with Elliot and Toby in defence. Sam P was soon on the receiving end of 3 quick goals by the Grasshoppers. We just couldn’t seem to get the ball moving for us in the first half. Everybody was clumping up and getting in each other’s way. We need to work on finding space so we can pick off the passes better. The rain was well and truly coming down at this point but our heads didn’t drop and with a great passing move from Toby and Max to Dillon, Dillon unleashed an unstoppable drive into the Grasshopper’s top corner ! 3-1 at half time, Ray and I made a tactical decision to try and pull something back out of the game. Isaac and Finley joined our team whilst Dillon and Elliot both went over to the Ebors. We were soon on the front foot with some better passing from everyone. Isaac managed to pull one back with a great run down the right and a super finish. Possibly Isaac should have had a couple more but the surface and ball were well and truly slippery. Sam O was in goal and pulled off a few good stops keeping the score at 3-2. The Vikings pushed on for the equaliser and right at the death we were awarded a penalty. Toby coolly stepped up and slotted the ball past the Grasshopper keeper. Not enough time left on the clock for a winner the score ended 3-3. Man of the match – Toby C with a great penalty under pressure. |
