Match report   FA Cup 6th Round Weekend usually heralds the onset of Spring, but in 2012 it had come a week early, and with the morning weather forecast suggesting a balmy 19C for the Vale of York, the conditions were always likely to be quite a contrast from the cold and wet weather that was experienced on the previous Sunday.

Fulford were quickly on the attack and after 10 minutes they took the lead when an excellent first touch pass from Will T played in Isaac in the inside right channel and he ran into the box and scored with a good finish into the far corner.

Will T nearly had a goal of his own shortly after, but a fantastic reflex save from his close range volley, by the Haxby keeper, kept the score at one -nil.

The second goal did come after fifteen minutes when some good build up play down the left led to a cross by Joe C. The ball wasn't cleared and Ross was on hand to score with an emphatic finish.

Haxby built up a few good attacks but were denied by some good work by the Fulford defence and a good save from Peter.

Early in the second half Fulford scored a third. Joe I hit a long-range shot which the Haxby keeper seemed to have covered, but as he slightly spilled the ball, Will T, who had chased the shot in from 10 yards away, was first to the rebound and went round the keeper to tap in with his left foot for a great centre-forward's goal.

The Haxby keeper soon made amends by pulling off his second top class save of the match by diving away to his right and turning Joe C's low drive around the post.

Haxby must be one of the hardest working team's in the Ryedale Under 11s League and their efforts ensured they were always a threat, but some good defensive cover from Harry and particularly Tom B, stopped them having any clear cut chances.

With 5 minutes left Haxby won a penalty. Peter did a modern-take on Bruce Grobelaar's 1984 goal-line antics and managed to save the resulting penalty!

In the penultimate minute, Haxby got the goal they deserved. A long-range shot hit the bar and bounced down for their striker to head in the rebound.
