Match report   Fulford Lions hoped that the hard work carried out over the summer in training would prove decisive in this coming season and the first test was against Brooklyn.

The match kicked off at a frenetic pace with Fulford going 3-0 up within 7 minutes with a hat trick for Damian. Alfie E started the match assured as ever, especially as he now wears the captain’s armband for the team. Simeon and Ethan looked comfortable in defence with Andrew and George controlling the midfield. Brooklyn however took their game to another level and pulled two back. Jake was then under pressure to ensure a third wasn’t scored by Brooklyn but held the line well.
At half time the team talk concentrated on holding the team together and ensuring the game wasn’t thrown away. Henry and Jordan came on and played their part well in ensuring (under Alfie’s leadership) Fulford scored a further 2 goals with Brooklyn scoring one additional goal through an unstoppable penalty. Simeon contributed with some very timely tackles/interceptions that could have allowed Brooklyn back into the game and ultimately had a very assured game indeed. The game ended 5-3 in Fulford’s favour with the team working very well especially with teamwork and communication playing a vital part in the win. Alfie received the MoM award after some vital captain’s work and play throughout.
