| Match report | On with the friendly. Tad lose 4 players due to the super effort they put in trying to keep the Foxes at bay and Sofia and Sophie Mole line up for Tad to make the numbers up in a game of 25 minutes for the 1st half (the ref said the match he was reefing this afternoon was called off so he had a bit of spare time to kill) and 10 minutes for the second half. The Foxes kicked off going with the slope and the wind in the 1st half, with the midfield quartet of Josie, Beth Robinson, Laura and Abby doing much of the pressing, linking up well with Beth Weeks in attack causing the Tad support to scream in anguish on numerous occasions. Georgie in goal was also called into action on a few occasions pulling off a couple of fine saves in a couple of 1 v 1 situations. The most notable effort of the half came from Abby taking a splendid free kick from practically the half way line and skimming the outside of the post. In second half Sophie Grantham came on for Sophie Mole for the Tad. Elle swapped with Georgie in goal and Georgie went up front. The second half was a very even affair, with some fine defending from both Elle and Beth Weeks and also Elle getting in on the action on the goalkeeping front pulling off a couple of fine saves from Sofia and Sophie G. Late on Tad sneaked a couple of goals to win the friendly 2-0 with Sophie G making the most of her opportunity to play up front and snatch a late goal for Tadcaster. Girl of the game Abby. Was running the show in midfield and unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, following up from her impressive display in the league game. Well done Abby! |
