| Match report | After having been made to wait for the late arrival of our opponents, we got of to the worst possible start by falling a goal behind early on. This was down to our poor defensive work from everyone. Too many missed tackles and an inabillity to get our foot in against a much larger side than us ( this could cover most teams ) was a factor in our poor start. When we did get the ball though we did play some great football and started to control the game for long periods. Josh soon scored to draw us level with a fine solo goal from the half way line. 1-1 at half time the game was evenly balanced and could go either way. We were bright early on and had good control of the game when we went 2-1 up ( still not sure of goalscorer). The following period of the game was the most crucial, we kept the ball well and were playing with confidence, but as in previous games we failed to convert a number of chances and should have been out of sight. As scripted a rare corner from Brooklyn produced one of the best volley's seen this year to draw them level,game on. What was pleasing was although they were now up for it we carried on playing good football and carved out a couple of late chances which we took one, a fine cross by Ben H converted by Matty won us the cup tie. Although we should have won this game early in the second half I was pleased with the way we didn't panic and kept doing the right things, Well Done. |
