| Match report | On Remembrance Sunday, Fulford travelled to Bishopthorpe's new Moor Lane ground, on the first really cold and frosty morning of the season. After a minute's silence was respectfully observed by both players and spectators alike, Fulford kicked off and were quickly on the attack. The first goal came after 4 minutes when Luca found some space in the box and slotted the ball into the corner of the net. Nicholas was having a fantastic game in the centre of midfield and he got a much deserved goal when the ball was squared to him by Jonathan, which he hit right-footed from 20 yards to find the net. Bishopthorpe were putting some good passing moves together,particularly out from defence, but were thwarted by some good tackles and interceptions from Davis, Nicholas, Harle & Paul. Fulford were playing some of their best football of the season and added a third when some passes through midfield saw Jonathan find Paul on the left and he cut in along the dead ball line before slotting it past the keeper. Early in the second half, Fulford made it 4-0, when Harle found Paul on the left wing. He cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable 25 yard shot that moved significantly in the air, before flying past the keeper and into the roof of the net. Bishopthorpe pushed on in search of a goal in the closing stages and while Fulford made some good counter-attacking moves, they could not add to their goal tally. |
