| Match report | This was a superb performance from the whole squad and our best of the season so far. Copmanthorpe Cobras are a very good team as they have shown us in the past but Fulford today were outstanding and made it very difficult for their opponents. Fulford dominated possession with Issie excellent up and down the right hand side. Shots flew in but the Cobras keeper kept Fulford at bay. It took a long shot from Elisha, well saved but there was Jez to smash the ball into the top of the net from close range for her 14th goal from 9 games. As the game was heading for half time, then came a special moment as the ball broke out of the box from a corner kick, Beth unleashed an unstoppable shot that flew in off the post for a goal of the season contender to extend Fulford's lead to 2:0 at half time. Some of the play was fantastic with Holly going short to Emma F & Beth who built attacks from the back. Elisha was fantastic again and the 3 girl midfield with Kirstin & Issie played some great football. Lucy D came on for Kirstin & added another dimension with some brilliant wing play & excellent passes. Elisha was now taking control of the game and it was a superb slide rule pass that split the home sides defence for Jez to run on to score into the left bottom corner of the net. Emma H replaced Issie who had given everything and Connie replaced Emma F who had had a solid game alongside Beth at the back. There was just time for Fulford to score a fourth goal as girl of the game Elisha volleyed home a superbly delivered corner by Lucy D at the near post to complete a brilliant 4-0 away victory. |
