Match report   It was deja-vu for the girls, Tockwith for the 2nd game running and another storming performance by the Foxes.

So on with the game, and believe it or not Tockwith had the better of the early exchanges (1st minute anyhow) and to serve as a warning Sofia had to be very smart off her line to save well from a 1 on 1 situation. Well done Sofia !

The Foxes then stepped it up a gear. Dani found herself in room down the right, jinked past a defender a played a slide rule pass into the path of Emily to slot home into the bottom right hand corner 2 more goals quickly followed for Emily, one form a corner OK so it cannoned off a Tockwith defender, but the whip and the curvature of the cross made the goal, so well done Emily excellent delivery, that's your goal. Then again Emily was again in on the action slotting home a neat little pass from Amy.

With a couple of minutes left in the 1st half, Amy got herself in on the action picking up a defensive clearance to send a 30yd screamer into the corner of the net.

Then in the dying seconds, Tockwith in a rare break got themselves a shot in on goal through a bundle of bodies. Sofia was severely unsighted and the ball just crept through her hands over the goaline, and despite Sofia's desperate attempt to retrieve the ball back into play, Helen's eagle like vision had spotted the ball was over the line and perhaps Sofia's face painted a 1000 words, goal to Tockwith. 1st half done and dusted, 4-1 to the Foxes.

For the start of the 2nd half, Beth R came on for Charlie who once again put in a faultless display at the back.

On with the 2nd half and Tockwith had been stirred by their half-time team talk and had the better of the 1st 5 minutes or so. 10 minutes in and with me about to send on Dani and Abby, Sophie Mole put in a great cross for Amy to slot home for her 2nd of the game. Off then can Sophie M and Beth W (who had made some great little runs down the flanks and also tracked back very well).

In the final 10 minutes it was wave after wave of Foxes attacks. With Abby putting in some very good work down the left, having 2 or 3 chances with her best effort hitting the post, which she blamed on the manager for his positioning of the goal. Apologies Abby!

Dani too was getting in some very good positions having 3 or 4 good chances, with the Tockwith keeper pulling off some inspired saves, pushing one against the post. Then in between Amy scoring an excellent goal after dribbling past 3 or 4 defenders, Dani's moment finally came. She received the ball on the right of the area in space and with steely determination written all over her face, buried it across the goalie in the bottom left hand corner. Well done Dani, great to see you on the goalsheet!

In the dying embers of the game, Tockwith had a chance for a late consolation, but after rounding Sofia, who was there but Beth R to put in a fine saving tackle. Well done Beth, that's the kind of commitment I like to see.

Final score 7-1. Girl of the game Sophie G, was like superglue on the back of the Tockwith striker, not ever giving her a sniff of a chance and when she had the ball at her feet she was calm and collective in her distribution of the ball to midfield. Well done Sophie!

Now, just a few points to think about for the next game. I know it's hard for you midfielders, but we need to work on tracking back when the opposition midfielders are breaking on our defence. There were a few occasions when 4 or 5 Tock girls were breaking unchallenged on our 2 defenders. Then in attack, there were a few occasions where we had overlapping runners and the early pass was on to put our midfielders or strikers in. Just remember, please look for that early pass if it's on.

If we want to be the best in this league and I believe we can be, these are the areas we need to work on.

Well done girls, keep striding on!
