Match report   It was a beautifully crisp Winter’s morning and next up for the Foxes were Dunnington on an unfamiliar sized pitch and strangely very small penalty areas. This game posed a totally new challenge for the Foxes!

During the game itself space in which to run into was at a premium. This was partly due to the size of the pitch, but credit where credit is due the Dunnington girls had new found spirit and desire, which meant our girls had no time to settle on the ball, making it very difficult for our girls to find that time and space in front of goal.

The game was littered with half chances to the Foxes, with Amy, Dani, Emily, Abby and Sophie M all coming close. But it seemed that the imposing Dunnington goalie had a magnetic field around her that meant all Foxes shots were attracted directly towards her, for her to pull of save after save after save, drawing great cheers from the home support.

It was a day of complete domination for the Foxes and I can’t remember a meaningful Dunnington shot to worry Georgie in goal. The game ended 0-0. The girls had put in a brave display, but for once it wasn’t to be. But heads up, we’re still 2nd in the league and there will be bigger fish to fry than Dunnington and I know we have the ammunition to batter and of the big fish in this league!

Girl of the game Beth. Didn’t let the Dunnington girls get a look in front of goal. Composed on the ball and stepped up well into midfield when required.
