| Match report | The Vikings took an early lead when Cameron followed up on a goalie spill and finished well. From then on they controlled the game with attackers and defenders closing down all the opposition moves and making sure Poppleton could not get close to the Vikings’ penalty area. Alex scored three, one of which was a shot from outside the penalty area which flew into the top corner, before the half time whistle went. The match saw some excellent support play from Harry and Cameron and some good linking up between Adi and Alex up front. Alex took over from Jordan in goal in the second half, with Reuben and Adi in defence and Jordan and Annabel up front. The Vikings’ attacks were built from the back with the excellent débutantes Reuben and Adi totally solid and going on runs when the opportunity arose. The Vikings went on to score another two great goals, one from Jordan who was played in by Annabel and the final super goal from the speedy Adi. This was a solid team performance with all seven players deserving praise. It was particularly pleasing to keep a clean sheet and the Vikings went into the second match on a high.
