Match report	Against a side who’d put 7 past us in 20 mins in the plate shield play offs before Christmas, Fulford were unlucky to go in at the break just 1-0 down. This was an unlucky own goal following Jonathon ‘s attempted headed clearance which took the ball agonisingly over the waiting arms of Joe. Despite conceding a lot of territory against a strong Woodthorpe team, we more than held our own with biting tackles from Ethan, Jack and wise covering from Sam. A world class save from Joe brought gasps and applause from the knowledgeable home crowd. The second half began with the ever threatening Liam talking a ball in the face. After a pause in play the drop ball fell to a Woodthorpe striker completely in the clear. A third goal quickly followed as Woodthorpe’s physical presence, backed up by a powerful wind, proved too strong for Fulford. Joe pulled off some more fine shops and Fulford kept plugging away at the other end and Liam was unlucky not to get a goal back. With fatigue creeping in some tackles were being miss-timed after conceding a fourth and frustrations nearly boiled over as the ref thankfully blew for time so the boys could gather themselves for the second match.
