| Match report | A brilliantly contested game saw an inspired Jordan open the scoring for Fulford, operating on the right of defence he picked up the ball on the edge of the Fulford penalty area and seeing no clear pass on he raced forward and unleashed a wonderful shot that beat the diving Wigginton keeper. Wigginton were soon on level terms with a great strike of their own, some great goal keeping from both Cameron and the Wigginton keeper ensured the halftime whistle arrived with no further addition to the scores. The second half continued in a similar vein and with both sides looking capable of scoring and it was Wigginton who did just that to take a 1:2 lead, however Fulford were quick to respond Euan winning the ball in the middle of the pitch and supplying William who beat 2 defenders before calmly slotting the ball past the Wigginton keeper. With the playing time fast disappearing Fulford won a corner, William drilled the ball into the near post where it briefly snuck over the goal line only to be dragged back by the Wigginton goalkeeper, confusion briefly reined as William celebrated and the rest of the players played on until our extremely able and brilliantly positioned referee awarded the goal. Another nice move out of defence to Alex on the half way line who went past 2 defenders and struck the ball into the bottom corner. And there was just enough time for Wigginton to take the kick off where upon Alex immediately won the ball and raced through the Wigginton side single handed to put the game beyond doubt with another well executed finish. Player of the match: Jordan - A brilliant display, back to his very best with a brilliant goal to set Fulford up for a fine win. |
