| Match report | A 1-0 win. Despite the scoreline this was a dominant display from Fulford. After some early flurries from the pacey Brooklyn right back, the boys maintained their composure and their positions and the pattern of the game soon emerged with neat interplay between Clemmie, Liam and Luke, time after time carving a way through the Brooklyn defence. Despite several openings all that was lacking was a clean finish. When openings did not emerge it was vreat to see the ball recycled through Birthday boy Jack and at the back alongside Adam. Sam provided great width on the right and was always an out ball. Another Brooklyn sortie was snuffed out by a beautifully timed tackle from Jack, which left Sam in space on the right. He curved a pin point pass down the line through the tiniest of gaps –perfect for Clemmie to run onto. He slotted it under the on rushing keeper. A superb swift counter attacking goal. At half time we brought on Edward on the right (always a threat) and welcomed Robin for a midfield début. He showed great maturity as a holding midfielder breaking up any Brooklyn attack. Brooklyn huffed and puffed but with the boys keeping their shape and passing nearly they were always a threat on the break. Jack was solid at the back and when Brooklyn did get through safe hands Joe was on hand to smother at the feet of the opposition striker. Adam was a constant threat at corners and was unlucky not to get his name on the scoresheet with several long range efforts. Luke remained at the heart of all the best Fulford moves like Xavi at his peak and chance after chance came and went as they tried to score the perfect goal. A narrow 1-0 win |
