| Match report | First game of 2016 saw an exciting close affair between the Vikings and Wigginton. On AstroTurf, because of the recent bad weather, both teams struggled to get used to the fast pace and bounce of the ball. The first half saw very little in the way of chances even though the Vikings dominated most of it and so it was 0-0 at half time. After a quick team talk the Vikings came out to the second half full of intent. Oliver found himself in midfield and went off on a fantastic run towards goal skipping past the Wigginton defence and then slotting the ball past the goalkeeper 1-0. Unfortunately Wigginton responded quickly and levelled the score. Still the Vikings marched on and were soon back in the lead. Freddie latching onto a Viking throw in and slotting the ball home. Wigginton responded pretty much straight away and were back on level terms 2-2. In the dying minutes Fulford had a couple of chances to win it but the game ended in a rather entertaining draw. Player of the Match was Freddie with a solid performance in midfield and a goal for his efforts |
