| Match report | So on with the friendly. The Foxes could now relax a bit after bagging the points from the league game and this definitely showed in their play. There was gay abandon about the passing and movement which was very pleasing to their very proud coach’s eye. Nick also had a very close up birds eye view and was definitely looking the part reefing in his wellies! In the 1st half, the Foxes created numerous chances between Sofia, Georgie and Beth R. Again they found the goalie in inspired form and just couldn’t find that breakthrough. Into the 2nd half, it was more of the same, with lots of intricate passing left to right, right to left, front to back and back to front! I think the Dale were completely mesmerised! Beth R got herself in to some very good positions but just couldn’t find that killer touch. It was up to Maisie to step up to the plate and midway through the 1st half she bore down on the Dale goalie, who she played ping pong with her shots before finally burying to put the Foxes a goal up. This was just reward the Maisie’s hard work and persistence during the game. From then on, the Foxes created chance after chance but just couldn’t polish the Dale off. In parallels to the 1st game, the Dale came back with a few chances pf their own, only for Sophie Mole to take a few leaves out Sofia’s book and pull off a couple of fine saves to cement the Foxes 1-0 victory. Girl of the Game: Maisie, simply the match winner for the Foxes. Well done Maise! |
