| Match report | In a game, where Fulford were always the under dogs, they raised their game and performance to match a Rawcliffe side that had quality all over the pitch. However after unfortunately finding themselves 3-0 down after the first 30 minutes, to some sloppy defending, Fulford got a hold of the game and started to look a threat going forwards. A constant barrage on the Rawcliffe goal lead to Fulfords opener when a route one goal kick was flicked on by Josh BN into the path of Olly who cleverly adjusted his feet, before hitting home a superb half volley that had to much power for the Rawcliffe keeper. 3-1 at half term, and belief ran through the Fulford team. In the second half Fulford came out all guns blazing with some amazing play between Liam Hancy and Nick Tate down the right wing. All the possession and attacks were with fulford who did everything but hit the back of the net with some terrific balls been played through to the strikers, from Midfield. An inspired substitution by the manager, lead to Fulford coming close again when a Nick Turnbull ball went all the way across the face of the goal and was unlucky not to be put in at the back post. Fulford kept pressing and forced a few good stops out of the Rawcliffe keeper, who must have wondered where his defence had disappeared to,as his goal was barraged by shots and crosses from Fulford. Rawcliffe's 4th came from a broken down Fulford attack, in which Rawcliffe countered quickly and got the ball up to there striker who neatly chipped the ball over Chris Morris. However Fuflord kept pressing and were unlucky not to have a second when the referee missed a clear goal by Liam Hancy where the ball was at least 2 foot over the line. The final score finished 4-1 but that did not reflect the game as for 60 minutes Fulford were the superior side, and deserved a result from the game. |
