| Match report | The game started off on a cold morning but things soon warmed up for the foxes with some great passes and runs with the ball. We were mainly in the other half with shots at the goal constantly (unlike Sof who spent most of the game bored stiff). Everyone was running up and down the pitch with brill passes (which we practiced in training the evening before) and lots of good shots. The rare opportunity Dunnington got, was kicked away by the great defence! In particular, Dunnington kicked a ball out which went into the hedge Dani went to take the throw in and had to climb into the hedge! We lost sight of her for a bit but she soon popped again and did a great throw in!!! Some time after that Dani came off for Beth. Then a great run from Em and Amy and a great pass meant that Amy got the first goal of the game! And cheered everybody up, soon Fulford were all over the place and especially in the penalty area sending shot after shot! Then Chris blew the half time whistle, a great first half and winning 1 – 0! The second half of the match started with the same team as before: Beth W, Sophie M, Charlie, Laura, Amy, Emily. Amy got an early chance at a goal but missed, closely followed by Beth Weeks cannoning up the pitch, shooting but also going slightly wide. Later on Emily got a free kick for a reason I think I missed, and scored a great goal. Then both Beth W and Amy shot at the goal, but they didn’t succeed – until Emily went up and scored another goal. Muffins. As in the 1st half, Fulford was keeping our half clear, and we were still passing very well, which led up to Amy scoring a great goal making the score 3 – 0. Shortly after a Dunnington player tripped Amy up, and we got a free kick, but the goalie saved it. The game ended with Emily scoring a goal, making a hatrick, about 30 seconds before the whistle went – making the final score 5 – 0. Match Day Reporters - Georgie and Sandy |
