| Match report | All change in team personnel for the 2nd game, but no let up in pressure on the Dunnington goal. Emily spent most the game fast asleep after her exertions from the 1st game. In the 1st half, Georgie and Josie were both looking menacing up front and were unlucky not to get on the score sheet on a number of occasions. Maisie was having an excellent in midfield, breaking up the Dunnington excursions to the half way line and helping to provide the ammunition for Josie and Georgie. Sophie G was flawless at sweeper mopping up everything at the back and setting the midfield on their way. Elle and Sandy were also making good progress down the wings and Sandy in particular was enjoying the space going forward. The 1st half finished 0-0, with the Foxes unlucky not to be ahead. 2nd half, Charlie came on for Sophie G as sweeper and her most important task was to keep talking to Emily in goal to stop her from slipping into a coma. 1 minute into the 2nd half, Josie picked the ball up from the right and danced past 3 or 4 defenders and planted an unstoppable shot into the far corner from an acute angle. Georgie had still also causing the Dunnington defence all sorts of problems and Sandy was having to confidence to get herself into the penalty area and let rip a few shots and was unlucky also not to register. Beth came on for Josie with 5 minutes left and also had some great runs down the right and was peppering the Dunnington goal with shots, but alas to no avail. Game over 1-0 to the Foxes, well done girls! Girl of the Game: Sandy. Solid in defence and got forward on numerous occasions, unlucky not to score. Well done Sandy! |
