| Match report | Just like last week we had a good turn out with 18 fulford players. The Cubs only had 9, and the Tigers games were organised as a 5 vs 5 Fulford game followed by an eight-a-side match against the Cubs. The five-a-side game was great fun. With five players on each side rather than seven or eight there was more space to play in, and everyone took full advantage of it. In attack and defence both teams played some really good stuff. It was competitive, fast moving and skilful, and the team play was really good to see. The final score was 3-3. After the wide-open spaces of the five-a-side game, the eight-a-side game against the Cubs was a different proposition - frustrating at times. Having so many players on the pitch made things a lot more difficult, and we had great trouble getting the ball away from our own goal area in the first half. The Cubs had one outstanding attacker who was difficult to defend against, and then we had possession we rarely managed to get past the Cub's mid-field. By the end of the first half some of our players were looking a bit dispirited. But in the second half we picked ourselves up and took the game to the Cubs. We got the ball into their half a lot more, and looked threatening and creative in attack. Henry got a goal back for us. In defence we managed to restrict the Cubs players to fewer shooting chances, and Emma was outstanding in goal. The final score was 4-1 to the Cubs, but we had a lot to be pleased with in our second-half play. One player who shone right through both games was Thomas, who was our Player of the Day.
