Match report   Odd to pick a defender as PotM but Scully was sure-footed as ever at the back and capped his return to his beloved Heworth with a goal. It was also a special day for Gianni Gabbiadini who tucked one away like Michael Owen at his best! Carl Brewer nicked one off the back of a yellow-shirted defender, Liam Richmond scored a thirty-yarder and Joe Tomsett drove hard into the box and onto the score-sheet with almost the last kick of the game. As for the other five? Well, you guessed it...Alex Forster was as dominant as ever in the box, posting a notice of his intent with a rasper off the bar early doors before embarking upon a quintet of strikes. We worked hard all game, Emlyn Davies doggedly sticking to his defensive duties, along with James Turton, whilst Mikey Pilcher and Ben Plaxton gave us plenty of width. Will Paver looked as comfortable at centre-half as he does in nets, and Josh Moran was a thorn in the Heworth back four's side with his harrying style; he played a role in Alex's last goal and had a good game. Considering we had five players out, this was a good win and testimony to Ricardo's ability to shuffle his pack and find a winning hand; it sets us up nicely for the up-coming cup clash with Wigginton. The lads deserve a restful week as they bask in the warmth of a top-of-the-league spot!
