| Match report | A tricky trip to the wilds of the East Riding provided a good work out for a young 'Ford side shorn of older players who had opted for the delights of Faliraki... But if fit was warm weather they wanted they could have come to Hull where the sun shone on a cracking result for 'Ford. It was probably the best first half of football that FFC have played this season with some slick passing and interplay against a useful St Andrews Reserve side. The 'Ford side were guilty of not taking their chances and the first half ended 1-0 with Sam Harro finally beating the keeper from the angle. If anything the St Andrews team started the second half the better and it was possibly against the run of play when Liam Hancy made it 2-0 as teh crowd watched the ball creep agonisingly under the bar. The 'Ford team seemed to take a breather and two quick goals brought the game back to 2-2 and finely balanced. This seemed to provide the kick-start 'Ford needed and 3 goals in a ten minute spell put the game beyond doubt; Sam Harro grabbing numbers 3 & 4 to seal his hat-trick and Dan Winter opening his account after yet more trickery for "T" on his debut. So a good run out against a reasonable side with lots of pluses for Harro to think about before the league fixtures start again next week. Good performances around the park but a special mention to MoM T who mesmerised the defenders all game and showed tremendous skill and composure and a great work ethic. Onward and upward... |
