Match report | Well what can i say a comprehensive result, well deserved and very well ground out, apart from 10 mins towards the end of the second half, we completely dominated and controlled this game. We had a bit of a lesson in football the week before at Springhead, it turns out 4 of thier players were in the 1st 11 at Hull City which explains a lot. This week we discussed playing football not turning into trouble and playing balls back and working our way out of pressure situations. From the start that is what we did and we kept patiently going forward. When ever Wiggie did attack on the breaks Ross was off his line and dominated all 50-50 situations, he not used to goal and played a great game today. Back four were Robust and Guy Cowley seems these days to want to score goals you can see him pushing forward to get them, this caused Wiggie problems today. Ben was commanding in the centre and his kicks in the second half into the wind gave us an edge as we were able to kick into their half. Stan was composed on the right and Scott on the left to begin with Midfeild we had Aaron in centre running his socks off and he could have had 3 today he chose to make the play as opposed to go for goal, Right we had Seth his first game this year and Oli C on left. Wth Freddie and David up front David seems to be playing in that position more and more now which is testimony to the teams strength when we can afford to not having him bolstering the lines in defecne and midfield. our first goal cam from Oli B who came on L wing and put it in the net super sub next to get one was David and this gave us a nice cushion Oli D cam on as sub and Bagged a header from the corner, it was good to see him score just what his confidence has been needing. Halft ime and we were 3-0 up, and desereved to be At this point it is improtant to say Luke Pendall had played a fantastic first half fo footie he was strong and biting at the midfielders throughout the first half, and this was important as it gave Arron the space to support the front and allowed our defence a chance to close up shop, He continued this in the 2nd half at the expense of getting himself forward for oppertunities at goal, but without this today im not sure we would have had so many lads score goals from all over which for a confidence thing is exactly the type of thing we want Another worth a metion today was Will started on the bench and played in defence and midfield left side and right hie perframnces this season are getting stronger and stronger and he was winning balls and fighting for things today. Freddie made it a deseved 4 and great to see him score early in the season, Oli C put in a overhead kick hit the cross bar the deflection off the bar went high he saw this and jumped up and headed home, then finally Aaron made it 6 with a superb strike, they got a consolation goal but we by this point were taking a foot off we bolstered up agian for the last 5 mins for a well deserved win. |
