| Match report | It's a funny old game and certainly one of two halves... A cheeky shot from kick off by Sam H could have put 'Ford on their way after 3 seconds but the goalie was alert to it. The first half then saw Fulford struggle to control the ball with a strong wind behind them and left the management agitated and far from happy despite a couple of strikes from Sam to give a 2-0 lead at HT. The second half had to be better and thankfully it was. An early third for Sam settled 'Ford and the football improved closer to levels seen against F1 last week. Adam nearly scored with a header after good build up down the left before making way for Thato in a straight swop upfront. Jack Heath and Ollie were introduced as an increasingly confident Fulford side went 3-4-3. The change in formation suited the now confident attacking 'Ford team and further goals followed. Jack Heath jinked and battled his way through to lash the ball into the net, Harro bagged three including a free kick which had the keeper rooted to the spot to take his total to 5 for the day, and T profited from clever play in the box by Jamie. T then burst through a host of Wheldrake players and his persistence in the box paid off when the ball squeezed past the keeper for a deserved second goal. So another win for 'Ford to keep the pressure on at the top of the league. Final mention goes to Steve Garfit who terrorised the Wheldrake defence in the second half to earn himself the Man of the Match award. And the Reserves won too to make it 4.5 from 5. Onward and upward. |
