Match report   Time for the bus to take a detour to Old Malton as we approach the home stretch.

Having had too many free weekends since Xmas followed by two below par performances it was decided that a friendly against a high flying OM Reserve side was needed to blow the cobwebs away.

The Fulford squad showed several changes from the last two weeks with a strong youth contingent and including Stanley from the U16s who has impressed everyone in training recently.

The sun came out as the game got underway and Ford began just as brightly, passing the ball around confidently and probing the OM defence. The Ford pressure began to tell and Matty Newsome pounced to put Ford in front, closely followed by a second from Ash. OM did threaten occasionally and Arran made a couple of smart saves to keep the score at 2-0 at HT.

The second half started perfectly as Sam H, playing at centre half, powered a headed 3rd goal from a pin point Nick Turnbull corner. Further goals came from Ollie and Terry as Ford effectively closed the game down to record a 5-0 win against a more than useful side.

Great confidence-building performances all round the park today and a joy to watch. The last word goes to Stanley who came on for the last twenty five minutes at right back, played the game simply and with a maturity beyond his years, and bounced up from a crude challenge to perform a Silva-esque dragback to leave two opponents wondering where he'd gone...

Get yourselves on that bus!
