Match report   Fulford were ahead within 5 minutes of this League 1 match versus Rawcliffe. Joe I played an excellent lofted pass over the Rawcliffe defence for Tom G to run on to. Tom was first to the ball ahead of the Rawcliffe keeper and he slotted it past him to give Fulford the lead.

James added a second 10 minutes later with a superb individual goal. He picked up the ball out on the right wing just inside the Rawcliffe half and powered past the Rawcliffe midfielder, the covering Rawcliffe full-back seemed to cover the danger by trying to jocky James towards the cornerflag, but with a great change of pace and direction, (reminiscent of Ronaldo!), James cut inside and then went past another defender, before firing the ball past the keeper..

The third goal came when the ball dropped loose, just inside the box. Ross was first to it and lobbed the ball over the keeper.

In the second half, Rawcliffe pulled a goal back. The ball was chipped into the six yard box and Peter was first to it ahead of the Rawcliffe striker. The ball took a wicked bobble as it bounced, causing Peter to drop the ball and the Rawcliffe striker tapped in.

The fourth goal came following sustained pressure in and around the penalty area. Rawcliffe partially cleared the ball to Frankie, who picked out Olly just outside the six yard box. Olly pounced on the ball in a flash to sweep the ball home for a much deserved goal.

Reza was having a great game up front with some lovely touches to find team mates in space. His strike partner, Will, hadn’t been having such a good day, as it seemed as though the ball just wouldn’t go in for him, as on a number of occasions the ball just went the wrong side of the post. However his persistence paid off as he was on hand to poke the ball home in the penultimate minute. Will has scored a number of important goals in the past, including goals to win Cup Finals, but we we’d never seen him celebrate a goal with as much feeling as with this one!

The man-of-the-match was Tom Heath, for a faultless performance in defence.
