| Match report | We got straight at Haxby from the first whistle and soon got into a good rythmn. We passed the ball well and made good runs up the pitch towards the Haxby goal. Fulford struck first with good build up play from Scot, Sam & Finlay who got the ball through to max who slotted the ball home low into the net with power. 1-0 We really dominated this first half and were unlucky not to go in at half time 3 goals up. We kept pressing but this did leave us open at times and Haxby took advantage of this with the equaliser just before half time. We had momentum at the start of the second half and soon our dominance resulted in a second goal for the ebors from Finlay - great finish. We could have killed the game off with a further few chances that would just not go in. We hit the post a few times too. Our defensive play was good with Jay,John & Baran putting in the effort & Isaac battling well in midfield. With only a few minutes to go it looked like this was a going to be a great win - However Haxby are a strong team and some great dribbling from them through midfield found the equaliser. 2-2 would have been a fairer result but Haxby powered a shot from just past the half wayline that found the back of the Fulford net. I am scratching my head as to how we lost this game - but in my eyes our performance was outstanding. You were a pleasure to watch. Jay,John,Scot, Max,Sam O,Isaac, Finlay & Baran - Well done to each of you - a solid battling display. On another day this would have been a win for Fulford. |
