| Match report | The second game saw a few changes with Thomas making his debut for the Lions with Ethan pushed into a midfield role. Henry and Damian played together with finesse using the ‘pass and move’ process to great fruition with the Brooklyn defence not able to contain their movement. Ethan’s corners were proving very difficult to defend and gave the Brooklyn defence major problems allowing the training to pay off with four goals being scored from these set pieces. Thomas was outstanding with his doggish tackling and constant pressure he placed on the Brooklyn attackers. Brooklyn could not penetrate a superbly marshalled defence by Jordan and Thomas. Henry and Alfie looked very assured indeed either side of Ethan who picked out glorious passes to his team mates which saw his confidence clearly grow. Damian made some very good runs and pulled Brooklyn’s defence apart. George, who played the second half in goal, showed his worth to the team with both his outfield play and goalkeeping. He carried out his game in the first half in midfield as usual pulling strings and second making some great saves. Jake, in the first half, made some timely saves to prevent Brooklyn adding to their solitary goal. The game ended 8-1, with every player on the pitch showing that pre-training has clearly worked well. The days of ‘head down’ and dribble is now diminishing with the players clearly working together and constantly communicating with each other. Thomas was selected as MoM and will prove to be a major asset this season with his positive attitude and commitment into every challenge.
