Match report   The excellent start to season continued on this Indian summer of an evening in Strensall. Despite a poor pitch, Fulford put in an outstanding performance and comfortably secured a 3-1 victory against a Strensall team that came 5th in the top division last season. It seems it is not the Tomsett-Sculpher regime which secures the magic from the Under 16s - Ricardo can do it too!
But it took the boys a while to find their feet, with Fulford conceding first to a sloppy goal from a set-piece. From then on, however, Fulford hardly put a foot wrong. The defence was consistently tight on the Strensall strikers, and when Scully went off with a hamstring injury in the second half Liam R and Pavs gave everything for the cause in the centre. Indeed, Danny had relatively little do after the first 15 minutes. The midfield was industrious and creative, with Binno in particular seeing a lot of possession and using it wisely. On a balmy night, the performance was enhanced by the prudent use of rolling subs by Mr Gabbiadini. But again the goals came from the two main strikers - Robbo (2) and Alex (1). At the whistle the Strensall coaches were generous in the compliments about Fulford's performance - if they can keep this up the season has all kinds of promise.
