| Match report | Fulford started the new season with a first ever visit to Wheldrake. Tom Grantham, playing at his “other” home ground captained Fulford for the day. The game was 10 a side, due to a number of Fulford playing still being away on holiday, and was played over 3 periods of twenty minutes. The first 20 minutes was a fairly even contest, as Fulford got back into the swing of playing football again. The best chances fell first to Will, who met a right wing cross from Isaac with a sweetly struck right foot volley that was well caught by the Wheldrake keeper. The second chance came from a Joe C corner that was headed against the bar by Joe I. In the second 20 minutes Fulford got into their stride and some good build up play by Frankie and Will set up chances for Isaac, who on both occasions finished well to put Fulford 2-0 up. A third quickly followed when a quick throw by Isaac set up Will who finished with ease to make it 3-0. Whedrake nearly pulled one back, but were denied by a brave diving save by Peter, and Harry got back to block the follow up shot. In the third 20 minutes, Fulford added a further 4 goals, which resulted in a slightly flattering scoreline, as the game was a good contest, particularly in midfield where both teams looked to get the ball down and pass. The fourth goal came when a shot from a tight angle by Isaac was deflected in at the near post. Joe C scored a much deserved goal when a cross-shot hit a defender and looped over the keeper. James got the sixth when he slotted the ball in when a Joe C shot had been blocked. Isaac completed the scoring, when he collected the ball from a partially cleared corner and drove the ball back in, which took a couple of deflections before finding the far corner.
