Match report   Fulford’s first league match of the season saw the visit of Rawcliffe moved from the Sunday to the following Thursday evening. The first half was an even contest with both teams keenly contesting the ball especially in midfield. Rawcliffe opened the scoring when a left wing corner fell to an unmarked Rawcliffe player 8 yards out and he hit a firm half volley into the left hand corner of the net.

Fulford’s best chance of the first half came when Will beat the Rawcliffe Centre Half to the ball and ran in on goal, only for the Ref to stop the game for a head injury to the Rawcliffe player.

In the second half, Fulford looked like a completely different team and soon took control of the game. Good build up play through midfield saw the ball played through to Isaac down the inside right channel and his inch perfect cross found Will running in and he headed powerfully into the roof of the net.

Fulford were ahead seconds later, as from the kick off Rawcliffe played the ball back to the centre half, but Will closed his clearance down, which put him through on goal, and with his first touch smashed the ball over the head of the Rawcliffe keeper and into the net.

Fulford had now found their feet and were playing some superb attacking football. The third goal came minutes later when a good move led to James being played in down the right, and he finished with an excellent shot into the top right hand corner, from a tight angle.

The fourth goal came from a well taken penalty from Joe C.

Isaac had been unlucky not to get on the scoresheet at this point, but he got his reward when a free kick was chipped over the Rawcliffe defence by Joe C and Isaac beat the off-side trap and ran through to beat the keeper.

Isaac grabbed a sixth towards the end to wrap up an excellent first game win for Fulford.
