Match report | A professional performance against a team that allowed us to much time to play. That said, Stamford Bridge competed hard for the first five minutes, but we had already netted three in their onion bag in that time, with two clinical efforts from Alfie and a top corner screamer from Andy. We scored regularly during the rest of the first half, with Damian, Andy and George all finding the net. Stamford Bridge made one break count to get a consolation goal. In the second half, Andy dropped back to defence and George went in goal. Ethan partnered Henry in midfield. We continued to look strong with Damian and Alfie (x2) adding to our tally. We scored some great goals in this game, but what impressed me most was the willingness of the players to work for the good of the team, laying off balls to players in better positions and running into space to draw defenders out of position. This way of playing is spreading rapidly through the team and it is great to watch. Damian led the way, and his unselfish play means he is a very well deserving Man of the Match. |
