| Match report | Next up the friendly and I have to say it was more of the same which is really encouraging and shows what great talent we have in depth in the Foxes squad. The Foxes were in total control in the 1st half, with some neat interpassing in midfield between Maisie, Sofia, Laura and Georgie in midfield, who were also affording the Bridge no space at all to work in. Towards the end of the 1st half came our best move, Beth R picked up the ball and rode a couple of challenges getting to the byline and pulling it back for Sofia. Unfortunately for Sofia the ball took what must be described as a wicked bobble and she screwed the ball wide from 2 yards Nevermind Sofia, as I said, you have to be in it to win it! On with the second half, with Dani coming on for Laura. 2 minutes in and Maisi fed a delightful ball through to Dani who powered her way into the box and hit her shot low and hard into the bottom corner. Off I went then to find my sub Abby who was ambling back from the café munching on a packet of quavers. In between this, the bridge somehow scored making it 1-1. I’d missed it completely! Quavers finished and on came Abby for Dani. The game finished one each after a couple more chances for the Foxes with Georgie and Beth R both unlucky not to have found their way onto the score sheet. I should also mention the great performances at the back from Sophie G and Sandy, with Sandy picking up girl of the game with her no nonsense tackling and excellent distribution of the ball from the back. |
