Match report   We knew it would be a tough game today away to a team who dropped from then first division and would be keen to bounce stragiht back up, we also remembered they have a very fast and skillful forward from last time we met them.

We had played them in the cup last year and they beat us something like 6-0.

The lads had a really good spirit among them today the likes of Ben were full of it and he was ribbing his team mates in warm up but on a really positive way, they all seemed confident and full of it today.

From the off we put up a good fight we were strong and firm and the lads seemed up for a game today which was much of an improvement on the last game against cop when they looked like they had been on a clubbing bender the night before.

Today they looked sharpe and seemed to be enjoying thier football.

We started with the 11 lads who had come to training on Friday which meant we had a different shape today and it left us with the unusual luxary of three subs of the quality of Chris,Seth and James.

It was fairly even from the off but their forward is something else and very quickly he had scored 2 goals and he alone was winning the game 2-0.

The defence had done well against them but he is something pretty special and he made a real nuiscance of himself.

Dan Blacker was up front for the first 25 mins with Oli B and they were getting very little service as Pickering had us pressed in our own half. When they did get the ball they looked like they might put us back into the game.

However it was time to make some changes we put on James up front and Chris took a centre back role to try and sort out their fast forward, Chris made a real difference and we were much better for the last half of the first half although we were not feeding the front men enough.

coming off at half time we were very pleased with the lads performance and felt that the diffenrece was their front man.

All the lads had payed well and it was a good team performance from them. Seth came on and we went for the second half win. Oli B and david T were linking together well as were Oli C was battling away.

Pickering kept giving us scares and Ben was tested in goal a number of times, then from no where James flicked the ball towards goal it was on its way in then the defender tried to clear it and knocked it into goal he stole the thunder off James but it was going in regardless and im going to give him it. Well done James i told you it was coming.

Pickering were quickly back in it and an unlucky fall of the ball went through for them and they were up 3-1 we kept going at it battleing hard from all angles Oli B up front was knocking lumps out of them he has done it a lot in training for some time and it is great to see him dish it out on the field now.

Pickering bagged another and then Seth mad a run and put a great ball through a cross for Oli C to come flying into it and make it 4-2 Oli is scoring well this season and its great to see him looking this confident.

4-2 that was it at full time the thing for me was that yeah we got beat today they are a good side. But the lads performance was the most important thing Guy Cowley captaned really well and all of them payed to win to the last min.

we are very pleased with this performance. again man of the match was hard to choose. could have been Aaron, Chris, David, Ben or Oli C or any other but for his bite today it goes to Oli B well done Oli.

all the lads are worthy of their place and did very well.
