Semi Final
In the semi final the Lions played Rawcliffe and despite going 1-0 down, roared back to win 2-1. A strong and well placed shot from Simeon got us level and a thunderous strike from Alfie hit the underside of the bar and went in off their goalie. We'd dominated possession and played the better football, so the result was well deserved.

Final
In the final we were up against Carr Vikings, who haven't lost a competitive match in almost a year. Having gone 1-0 down, Damian poached an equaliser. Carr came back at us though and bagged three quick goals, taking advantage of some defensive slackness. All credit to the boys though, they fought back and Damian scored with a great header to make it 4-2 at full time. For significant parts of the final we looked the better team and on a different day we could easily have won it. Graham Reeds, the Mitchell League Secretary came over during our photo session at the end and said exactly that.

I am very proud of the whole squad and would like to thank them for putting on such a good show for us today.

I'd like to thank the parents and carers who braved the Arctic conditions, especially the Mums on Mother's Day. I'd also like to thank the coaches who have helped to get the boys to where they are today. Jason, Tim, Alan, Mike and Andy K. have all helped the boys to believe in themselves and to play passing football. There was plenty of evidence of that today and I hope they will go on and do themselves justice in the last two League matches of the season.
