| Match report | Copmanthorpe Cobras were the visitors on a sunny February morning with Fulford looking to go six points clear at the top of the league with their nearest rivals playing in the cup preliminary round. The game started pretty evenly and it was the visitors who took an early lead with the ball stabbed home from close range from a corner kick. Fulford took a little time to settle down but with girl of the game Emma F sweeping up across the back as Beth attacked from the back. It was one of these runs that lead to the equaliser as a shot from distance found it's way through the defence and nestled into the bottom corner. Kirstin had a one on one with the keeper just before the break and she struck a great left footed shot but the goalkeeper made a superb save knocking the ball just wide of the post. The whistle blew for half time with the score locked at 1:1. A slight halftime tactical change released Elisha into an attacking midfield role alongside the ever reliable and excellent Issie and they started to dominate the game. It was Elisha that put Fulford in front with a long range effort before increasing the lead to 3:1, heading in a cross from Jez. As Cop tired Fulford pressed forward looking for more goals and Elisha completed her hat trick and the scoring and the game finished at 4:1. A good game of football and an excellent second half performance from Fulford. |
