| Match report | This was another really tough competitive game. Barlby again started the quicker of the two teams and having hit the underside of the crossbar in the early stages, went one nil up soon after. Fulford equalised shortly afterwards when Paul scored direct from a free kick. Just before half-time, Fulford were on the attack, but Barlby broke away down the left wing to score and make it 2-1. In the second half Fulford again equalised from a direct free-kick, this time it was Luca who floated it in to the top corner. Fulford were now enjoying their best attacking spell of the evening. From one such break from midfield Will was fouled and from the resulting free-kick by Luca, Luke was there at the back post to head in a goal from close range that his performance deserved. In the closing stages, Archie's right-wing cross was handballed by a Barlby defender and Fraser stepped up to confidently convert the penalty to seal a 4-2 win for Fulford to round off the season in style. It has been a brilliant season for Fulford Under 8s and great thanks must go to all the players who have represented the team this season, plus all the parents who have given fantastic support to the lads throughout. |
