Match report   A tough fixture against a team that gave us trouble last season at their ground, and which has come on strongly since then. The addition of Schoolboys Captain, Luke Jones, to the Huntington ranks will have greatly diminished Haxby to the huge benefit of Huntington.

Jones scored Huntington's first and third, both powerful headers from corners, and also helped Huntington to control the midfield.

We couldn't really have complained if we had been 4 or 5 down at half time. Huntington played good, often one touch, passing football and found themselves pitted against a Fulford team that stood off them (how often has that happened in the first 20 minutes of matches?) and let them play.

Fulford went behind within the first 5 minutes, a strong header from Jones giving Jake no chance. Somehow we survived to go in one down at half time, but within 1 minute of the restart the deficit doubled.

Fulford made more of the game in the second half but struggled to retain possession through midfield. When we hit it over the top, their defence was quick to react and well drilled.

Dougie earned a very well earned Player of the Match award. He read the game well and was quick and decisive in closing down and snuffing out their attacking threat down the right.

Sunday v Brayton will be a different match. We'll welcome George back to the midfield and will hope to compete more effectively all over the pitch.

Thanks to all who came and supported the team last night.
