Match report   We were really quite unsure how this was going to play out today, the lads were pretty deflated from our 9 goal drubbing as were the coaches, everyone knew we were not playing to our full potential and other than a few glimmers here and there we had not done so since we got defeated by Copmanthorpe way back in the season.

We had discussed among ourselves how to try and get the lads functioning as a team of players rather than individuals and how to play football more mature.

We had talked to them about fooling around in training and then had a couple of really good training sessions with them, where they behaved themselves listenend and we told them to listen if they were not.
We trained hard and everyone had a good time at no ones expense.

The mature attitude to the certainly paid off in this game and the lads played some good football and what came with this was some return of confidence and determination, and a little bit of true grit.

Tadcaster are a physical side with some big fast lads/blokes palying for them, but today we really rattled them and should have and deserved to have taken something from the game.

we had changed things around a little.
Ben in goal stayed the same and the defence had a new look today, we palyed james at R/back and david just behind the back 4 plugging a gap. along with Guy Cameron and Frankie.

James was in the thick of things and is a very talented player and we felt he needed to be in the thick of the action today, we knew Tad were a good side and were gonna come at us, James thinks about his football he is quick and did just the job for us, David slotted in behind the back four and kept on sweeping up much of the Tadcaster attacks, he really is our unsung hero David he quietly gets on with the job never complains plays well week in week out and today was by far no exception to that.

With Ben behind him in great form during the game it made Taddys job that much harder.

Guy was well up for it and him and frankie seemed to thrive knowing David was behind them. Frankie and Cameron were like a duo today with physical play supporting one another to win balls and Cameron surging out with it after some dogged scraps with the tadcaster forwards.

Tadcaster didnt expect this and their coach began to get involved in events, rightly or wrongly i think he wants to win the league and forgot where he was, never the less he stoked the fire in our belly more. Tad thought they were gonna walk it and they were sadly mistaken.

Arron captained the squad today he led by example and was getting involved all over the park Seth Ran his socks off back and forth all over again, he asked to come off in the second half, i thought he was tired after all that runnning but he had actually taken a nasty knock and hurt his knee, fingers crossed he will recover quicky as today's Seth was back to a form we had come to expect from him, Oli C made some long runs and was useful down the left, and a real difference in the midfeild was George, he has been scoring since his long awaited return but as a forward was not in the thinck of things, today he did the buisness and he scored our 2 goals both of them very well taken especially his free kick, his size and presence caused real problems and enabled our other midfielders to do a different type of job and run through with him to get into attacking positions. If he bangs them in from there then even better still.

Scott was up front at first and was getting plenty of service through and was causing problems to the tad defence he was getting a hard time from them but kept trying and going at them.

Not forgetting our subs Oli B, Ross and Dan. We had said to the lads we wanted them to run and run today and that we would use subs in a way that gave us fresh legs in areas where needed.

We did this well today and we put Oli B on left side of midfield for Oli C and George, Oli B went on in these posistions and made vital contributions and showed quality by holding our consistancy, Ross went up front and held things got under the ball and caused problems, Dan had a spell up front and Scott replaced Seth on R/mid.

I hope we learnt a lot today about oursleves as a team we can beat anyone in our leugue if we play with the right attitude and as a team who think about what they are doing, we have some tough games to come and we need to win some, we have pickering next week who are strong side i would like to see them do the leugue over tad but we wont do them any favours as we need some points.

Man of the match was toughly contested but David Thompson was the key man today, but a big well done to them all
