Match report   It was the foxes up against Copmanthorpe, playing for a place in the League cup semi final on a pitch that wouldn’t have looked out of place on the moon. Cop were boasting a new star player, straight from the academy of performing arts. Yes it was Hollyoaks soap star Holly Cunningham. Not that I’m a follower of Hollyoaks of course but I think a number of the girls were in awe of her! The question was would the Foxes be star struck?

The game got under way and immediately the Foxes were onto the front foot forcing a corner in the 1st minute, which Emily whipped in low and hard for Dani to apply for finishing touch in amongst a body of players and wheel away in celebration.

Then in the best move of the game, Abby found Emily neatly down the left for Emily to cross into the box to find Amy ghosting in a volley home exquisitely from 10 yards. Nick’s volley training the night before had clearly paid dividends!

A couple of minutes later the Foxes were 3 up. A long throw from Charlie caught the Cop defenders leaden footed and Emily sneaked around the back to blast the ball home. Then straight from a corner Emily curled it in low and hard into the bottom corner it was 4-0 and the start of a rout! This was quickly followed by 3 more goals, firstly Abby in space down the left to find Amy who made a well timed run into the box to make it 5-0, then Charlie again making good use of her long throw found Amy in the box and finally after some neat interplay between Emily and Amy, Amy raced on to a through ball to make it 7-0 at the break!

On to the 2nd half and Cop managed to defend a little more steadfastly. 3 more goals were to follow this half. Firstly Emily picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box, to score her best goal of the game, striking the ball very sweetly with her left foot into the bottom right hand corner, then in another move involving Emily and Amy, Emily played Amy through to do the rest and finally, Sophie Mole was not to be denied her moment of glory, stepping up from the back to unleash a right foot howitzer which nearly took the roof of the net off to make it 10-0 to the Foxes! Well done to Cop who managed to batten down the hatches much better in the 2nd half to restrict the Foxes scoring

Girl of the game, Charlie. Set up 2 goals with her long throws and greased the wheels of the well oiled Foxes machine from the back. Well done Charlie!
