Match report   Cup game:
First game of the season, it wanst the flying start we had hoped for, but never the less it was a decent performance for our first game. Pocklington had the edge on us and looked sharper, they had played some freindlys and that showed in their performance against us. They were a little quicker to things.
Having said that it was a good solid perforamnce from our back 4 with Guy Cowley directing the lads in his usual consistant way. Scott was really solid and made some really detemined tackles. Will and Cameron did well on the outside and cut out a lot of play with their pace. Cameron Thompson was especially outstanding and it was his first game for the club.
Midfield looked in good shape Arron Dunwoody ran his socks off as usual and played a hard game, Chris in the middle again first game looked very solid and commanding. Oli C and seth on the wings made plenty of runs and looked sharp.
David and Oli B up front did their best to break down Pocklingtons solid defence, it just wasnt going for us. And it was difficult to see where our goals would come from.
James Gonzales came on another one on his fulford debut, and he made some good space and whooped in few great crosses and Ross looked very solid in midfield and defence a real untility player who can play anywhere.
Not forgetting Ben in goal another solid performance mad some crucial saves.

Pocklingon were the better side on the day but we did deserve something from the game even a consilation goal would have done.

In the second half we didnt really look like we were going to score until James was brought down in the area and we were awarded a penalty, thier keeper made a good save David T struck it well it wasnt to be, that did inject a bit of belief into the lads and he was brought down again shorlty after but the ref didnt give it.

Each lad gave a good performance in the game, and we didnt lose any points, in hind sight a freindly would have been a great benefit to us, hindsight is such a wonderful thing too late for that now.

Learning points from the game to work on in training.

Closing players down quickly, we gave them too much space to play with.
attacking with some simple football too many times in an attacking posiiton we turned into players or ran into them
