Match report	Today's match was a friendly against Haxby Town. Haxby have a squad of 20+ players, many of whom have been playing together for 18 months. The Lions started against what was effectively a Haxby A team. Haxby A showed us what a team that has been together for some time can do by taking a 5-0 lead by half time and eventually running out 8-0 winners. It took a while for the Lions to get going but once they did, there were some encouraging signs. We need to work on positioning and defensive strategies in particular in order to give ourselves the best chance against strong teams like Haxby A. Player of the Week was Archie who continued his excellent work from last week, tackling well in midfield and looking threatening up front. I'd like to thank our referees today, Andy and Simon and Simon (George's Dad) who volunteered to be goal co-ordinator for home matches.
