| Match report | Our first time at Rufforth we have never gone against them before so they were an unknown. In the end we only had 12 men due to sickness and injury. We were quick off the mark, and our first half performanace was a good one. Billy Orpe made his Fulford debut in the sticks and had a great performance for his first appearence. Billy offers us the oppertunity to have Ben out field more and we decided our the role of midfield meastro was where we play him he has a very large kick and is able to dictate a lot of play from the centre. we kept going forward Rufforth occasionally broke and looked like they could test us but we had the upper hand. An early blow for us was george had to be carried off after 5 mins. However we pushed toward goal and nearly struck home through David which resulted in a goal mouth scramble and Scott sent it in 1-0 to us. We continued to push forward and shortly after that Ben whipped in a corner David headed it down to the floor towards goal and Oli Bates sent it in 2-0 and if they were doing post match commentry on match of the day they would have called it a text book goal. Hlaf time and Rufforth must have had a rocket up thier rear end and they looked like a different team and they looked like they wanted to win. we kept going forward but they were much more dangerous and they pulled level we went ahead again through a David Thompson goal 3-2 but they were up for it now. and before we knew it 3-3 we brought George back on and went for it they thought they could win us until we won a free kick 25 yards out and george Banged it home 4-3 final whitle. man of the match for his tireless battling and runnning Seth Dudley. |
