Match report | How long can this great sunny Sunday afternoon weather and good Fulford play last? Fulford set out their stall straight away with a great shot from Rob. After 7', following some good work up the left, an unmarked Elliot thumped one in from close range. Applying pressure on a Town pass-back, JD battled most of the home defence to lay the ball off for Elliot to tap in his second on the quarter hour. JackB was solid as ever and rarely troubled between the posts behind a strong defensive display from Joey, Steven, Luke and Tom. Fulford's midfield of JD, Craig, Belly and Hazza started to dominate the midfield exchanges, and more goals looked likely. Woody (now on for Elliot) had a great shot saved on the half hour mark. Rob and JD then combined well at the end of the first-half for Woody to cooly slot the ball in the onion basket only for it to be disallowed for an "off-side". HALF-TIME: Easingwold Town 0 Fulford 2. Elliot and Patch came on for Craig and JD in the second-half and Fulford pressure continued as they now played down the slope. After 10 mins. Joey had a shot fly over from the edge of the box and 5 mins. later a great cross from the right saw Woody nod just past the post. Fulford pressed on but were hit with many offside decisions and Patch was harshly booked for stating the obvious following another disallowed Fulford goal. The game lost its way a bit after then but Fulford rarely looked under threat. JD and Craig came back on after 20 mins. to replace the hard-working duo of Rob and Joey and, following a dangerous Patch corner, Woody then deservedly tucked away Fulford's third. With several good chances and Patch firing at will, more goals could have followed. Just before the final whistle, JD fought his way into the box again only to see his great strike just dip over the bar. FINAL SCORE: Easingwold Town 0 Fulford 3 (or was that 5?). Overall, a strong performance with much better passing play (at times) against another very sportsmanlike team. Spectators' man of the match = Woody. |
