| Match report | We turned up for this on the back of a very good win last week where some of the lads showed some real innovation in diefferent positions. We are still without some key men so this week we went for this again. we took some very early innitiative and nearly went ahead from the centre via Ross, then a couple of mins later we did go ahead through Ross macleod it went in off one of thiers but Ross can have the glory as he sent it in the direction of goal. Our back 4 were very solid today. Ben and Guy in the centre and Cam and Will on the wide. Billy in the goal didnt have a great deal to do in the first half. we were peepering the goal again but just couldnt convert and take on that advantage to kill the game off. we were winning the battles all over the field Midfeild was made up David Aaron in centre mid and Oli B left and James G Right. Aaron and James were linking up well and we looked like we were going to socre but just werent, eventually david T scored a sweet header 2-0 to us, Ross and Chris were causing plenty of problems to them too. Oli D went on R mid for a while and when half time came we knew we had done OK and just needed to put the ball in the net. Half time became a bit different thye moved an extra man up front and they seemed to up thier game somewhat. We continued to go very close to goal but still it was not going in, however they were starting to get a head of steam they hit our cross bar for us to clear it but that really lifted them, however they were now starting to give the ref a hard time this started with the coaches and infected into thier lads. I thought the ref handled the game OK we were not by any means getting any special treatment, and had been on the end of some poor calls, however i felt that thier behaviour was very poor towards hime and was quite shocked when the team started to give the ref a hard time. I could see our boys getting a bit hacked off with this and made a point of telling them that we do not do this and to not get drawn into any of this type of thing. I think thier behaviour had a detrimental effect on us and you could see that we started to shy out of a few things and that they had intimidated us. However we held on and won the game we should have won it by more but the points are in the bag for us and thats the main thing. Billy Orpe made some amazing saves today and kept us in the game he is improving week on week he has enabled us to get Ben out filed who offers us something more out field that we had been lacking. So Man of the match goes to Billy, he just pipped a couple of others to it, its worth a mention for Oli Bates he played the most confident game i have seen hm play despite the aggro he battled and hussled like he does in training, david was also fantastic today. |
