| Match report | Our first league game for quite some time, last time we played Poppelton they knocked us out of the league cup in the last kick of the game, and it was a game we had clearly dominated. So as a coaching team we didnt want to lose this. We came out firing and quickly went ahead thorugh Ross Macleod who was bearing down on the keeper who was coming for the 50-50, he had plenty to do but he slotted home with composure. We went ahead further a couple of mins later through another David Thompson goal, things setteld down in the game for a while and we were in comfertable possession for the first half, we were alternating the subs every 5 mins, Billy in the sticks was having a lot less to do this week than last. The back 4 were seeing off any pock attacks Guy and Ben were solid in the middle they are starting to play really well together, Guy never shirks a scrap and Poppletons big number 5 seemed up for one today, however guy saw him off. Ben offers us something really different now he has moved out of goal, his kicking is awesome so the free kicks and corners give us another string to our bow. Frankie and Cam on the wings were solid too Cameron looked really confident going forward and came out crowds of players with the ball a few times today. Midfeild was Arron and david in the centre Aaron played out of his skin today, David as always surging forward never misses a trick week in week out he always performs, on the wings we had Oli C and James, Oli C was able to get a lot of possession down the left and was tearing them up until he came off injured, Oli came back on later and had problerbly his best game this season, James was linking up with Aaron and causing them plenty of problems. Up front we had Oli B in a free role in front of midfeild and Ross on the last man these guys are really in form at the moment and in the second half they looked dangerous and linke up well to cause a lot of problems. Seth came off the bench as did Oli Davies Seth in his usual position, he was getting into a lot of plays on the right and he got into a great attack and bagged our third goal. Oli D utility player today he was all over the ptich played up front right midfield and right back. Will came on in the right of mdfield he played a very strong game of football and looked very dangerous on the attack. Poppleton managed to score a goal but we didnt ever feel we were gonna be troubled by them, Aaron went down the right wing and was kind of brought down by a popp player although it was dubious to say the least, however thats how it goes and won a free kick,Ben hit it into the net from 30 plus yards great goal and game over really 4-1 to us and the points in the bag |
