| Match report | Heworth v Fulford – Friendly game first half 3rd October, 2009 Sophie G (GK) Charlie, Elle and Sandy (Defense) Dani, Sophie Mole (Midfield) Beth, Georgie (Striker)-Subs: Amy, Abby, Emily The game kicked off on a cold windy morning but this did not stop Fulford from having a great game and having lots of fun. The girls got into position and the game started, Heworth got kick off doing some great passes but Fulford was just too quick for Heworth and we had gained the ball in a matter of minutes. Fulford were doing some great runs especially Dani and Beth down the wings, these great runs led to some great shots and some great corners. Fulford had most of the possession but Heworth never stopped trying. Heworth made a break which was blocked by Sandy, the whistle was blown, and the ref stopped the game to find that Sandy had, had a bad knock on her leg and was in tears. She was taken off and replaced with Amy. The Fulford girls were disappointed that one of their players was injured but they kept going strong, keeping their heads held high. Soon after, Beth made a break which was taken by the wind and blew out for a goal kick, Unlucky Beth a great run. Two minutes later Georgie broke away, running full length of the pitch, but it was just one touch too far and Georgie found herself in a difficult position with aggressive number six who had flown in for the tackle. Number 6 claimed the ball as hers, but Georgie was not happy, she wanted the ball, so she kept fighting back until it was her ball. Then with a great long pass from Georgie squaring the ball to the edge of the box, Amy smacked the ball, from 15 yards into the top left hand corner. Well done Amy a fab goal! Score 1- 0.
